dogtrot magazine

Dogtrot Magazine borrows its name from an architectural style in Appalachia, where two separate structures are joined by a covered porch or breezeway or dogtrot. A dogtrot is both inside and outside–a place for sharing and communion as well as function and utility–a structural heart useful for storytelling, canning beans, and everything in between. The focus of Dogtrot is to celebrate this kind of hybridity. We believe in sharing art, writing, poetry, interviews, academic articles, essays, and other pursuits that embody the spirit of this architectural style.
